The Institute Of Future Media, Democracy And Society at Dublin City University (DCU FuJo) is a multidisciplinary research centre focused on the digital transformation of media, democracy, and society. FuJo investigates how to counter digital challenges including disinformation and digital hate; how to enhance public participation through democratic innovations; and how to secure the sustainability of high-quality journalism.

The Heidelberg School of Education (HSE) is a joint academic institution of Heidelberg University and the Heidelberg University of Education. Its mission is to strengthen cooperative teacher education in terms of study, research, and knowledge transfer. There is a particular focus on cross-cutting future literacies in fields such as democracy education, critical media literacy, sustainable action, AI literacy, and values education. For the University, the HSE is the central point of contact for issues relating to teacher education.

The Media & Learning Association (MLA) or to give it its full name the MEDEA: MEDIA & LEARNING ivzw is an international, not-for-profit association set up in 2012 under Belgian law to promote and stimulate the use of media as a way to enhance innovation and creativity in teaching and learning across all levels of education in Europe. Members include national and regional agencies charged with the promotion of innovation in teaching and learning as well as universities, ministries of education and schools’ networks.

The Institute of Social Studies has evolved into a centre of competence with specialties and research focusing around three main subject clusters: journalism and communication; sociology and social well-being and information sciences. The institute works closely with economists, education scientists, political scientists, psychologists and other specialties from among the humanities or hard sciences. d-teach online school ivzw is a Belgian non-profit organization. Founded in 2012 as the first online school in Belgium, d-teach provides personalised and flexible learning opportunities for K12 education and lifelong learners.
The organisation supports learners in more than 70 countries and offers language lessons, academic subjects, speech therapy and tailored educational support. With a team of qualified teachers and educational specialists, d-teach has developed extensive expertise in online pedagogy, digital learning and learner-centred education.
As a UNESCO Associated School, European Parliament Ambassador School and Microsoft Showcase School, d-teach is committed to global citizenship, innovation and accessible education. The organisation has been recognised by the European Commission as a good practice in digital education. This recognition led to participation in the European Digital Education Accelerator and contributed to the creation of ICONS (International Community of Online Schools), a global network of online schools that promotes collaboration, research and the exchange of best practices.

University of Cologne (UoC) is the largest university in Europe providing teacher education. It has a strong research focus in teacher education, empirical educational sciences, educational psychology, inclusion and didactics, especially of languages. With around 800 partnering schools within the Educational Region Cologne, its five Centers for Practical Teacher Training (responsible for the Referendariat/2nd phase of teacher training), the District Government and the City of Cologne, UoC creates a place where a nationwide unique concept of school learning and university teacher training is being realised in future-oriented architecture and innovatively designed teaching and learning spaces – therefore providing the ideal breeding ground as well as performing space for numerous TAMeLi activities. The Centre for Teacher Education, the central point of contact for all teacher students, coordinates the TAMeLi project.

The University of Helsinki (UH) is the oldest and largest institution of academic education in Finland, an international scientific community of 40,000 students and researchers. The main objectives of the Portuguese Journalists’ Training Center (CENJOR) are to train professionals in the communications sector, help them adapt to new activities and technologies, equip them with broader skills, and support the modernisation and development of media companies.
CENJOR is a body with legal personality under public law, administrative and financial autonomy and its own assets, whose mission is to promote education and vocational training activities, aimed primarily at journalists and other professionals of media companies.
CENJOR’s activities are national, local and international. A policy of ‘tailor-made’ courses aims to adapt the training offered or requested to the specific needs of media companies. Part of the Centre’s activity is directed at local and regional media outlets across the country.
Founded in 1986, the Centre operates at an international level, participating in training programmes in collaboration with other centres, institutes and universities, and within the framework of the European Journalism Training Association
Cenjor’s mission and activities include training journalists in and from the Portuguese-speaking African countries, in partnership with the national authorities and institutions of each country: governments, training centres, public and private media outlets (newspapers, news agencies, radio stations, television channels, etc.), industry associations and trade unions. Through regular partnerships, Cenjor is a training provider in journalism and media literacy in africa, and carries out the EU-delegated cooperation on journalism and communication training in East-Timor.

Tartu Katoliku Hariduskeskus is a private Christian educational centre in Tartu, Estonia, bringing together kindergarten, basic school, upper secondary education and hobby education. Its mission is to provide education and upbringing rooted in a Christian worldview, while creating a school environment marked by respect, care, responsibility and attention to each learner’s unique strengths. The school combines strong academic education with real-life learning, integrated studies, inquiry-based methods and early foreign-language learning. It places special value on critical thinking, helping students make ethical choices and participate thoughtfully in contemporary society. Inclusive support systems, including special-needs coordination and specialist services, are an important part of the school’s daily work.

The Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) is a non-profit higher education institution based in Skopje, with long-standing work in media, communication, journalism education and research. Since 2008, media literacy has been one of ICS’s core areas of expertise, developed through research, curriculum support, non-formal education, public campaigns and cooperation with media and institutions.
ICS has contributed to the introduction of media literacy in the curricula of eight faculties in North Macedonia and has worked continuously with high school students, university students, teachers, journalists, academics and older citizens. Its portfolio includes journalistic workshops, student media production, media literacy camps, educational resources, the Media Literacy Dictionary, academic publications and public events dedicated to media and information literacy.
A major part of ICS’s recent work focuses on disinformation, harmful narratives and media manipulation. Through research and training programmes, ICS has educated different audiences — including more than 500 retirees — on how to recognize disinformation and critically assess media content. The institute also cooperates with media outlets and the public broadcaster in producing and disseminating educational content.
ICS has implemented a wide range of European and international projects with universities, media organizations, civil society partners and public institutions, strengthening media literacy, resilience to disinformation and active citizenship — a long-term commitment also reflected in EU recognition of its work in the field.
